Conference on ‘Resolution of Commercial Russia-Related Disputes; a New Wave’ organized by the American Bar Association through support of EPAM Law took place on September 21, 2009
The Spanish Criminal Court today reviewed the prison sentence of 15 Russian sailors and ruled to release them on conditional early parole. The sailors were sentenced last year for smuggling to three years of imprisonment. The Russian citizens were represented by EPAM in affiliation with Spanish lawyers.
Kazan hosted the BRIC (Brasilia, Russia, India, China) International Competition Conference held from 1 to 3 September 2009, which covered the most important competition issues in boosting economies. The Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce – the World Business Organization (ICC Russia) has held another event from its ICC Russia Anti-Crisis Package series – a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Ways to Adapt Contractual Obligations. Current Problems in the Time of Crisis Seen Through the Real Estate Market’. The discussion was focused on ways to adapt contractual obligations in the current circumstances of economic instability as seen through the real estate market. The discussion was moderated by Dmitry Stepanov, a partner with EPAM Law.
The parties to the English law suit between Conn International Group LLC and EPAM and EPAM LLP have reached a full and complete settlement of the suit on mutually agreeable terms.
Since its foundation The International Bar Association has concentrated on publications and spreading materials, devoted both to IBA’s activity and law practice matters in different fields of law. Arhangelsk Trawler Fleet (ATF), Russia’s oldest state-run fishing company, has won a key judgment from the High Court of the Republic of Namibia, which is expected to put an end to the long-running row over the return of the Russian flag to three fishing trawlers illegally seized from the company several years ago.

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has announced that on June 26, 2009, it will hold a Status Conference in $8 million civil suit for damages filed against the U.S. millionaire Andrew Mogilyansky on April 30, 2009. Five young women, Mogilyansky’s victims, are represented by EPAM Law (Russia) and Fox Rothschild LLP (the USA).
