On 26 September 2008, the official inauguration of the first “Legal Business in the South of Russia” forum took place in Rostov-on-Don, attended by more than one hundred delegates from 35 law firms of southern Russian cities. Nikolay Averchenko, a senior lawyer of EPAM, took part the event.

Tonight St. Petersburg hosted the first ever National Award for Achievements in the Legal Profession instituted by the Federal Bar Association of the Russian Federation. EPAM received the Bar’s “Triumph” Award, a testament to the high esteem in which the firm is held by peers, as well as its individual and corporate clients.

Law enforcement authorities of Norway have reported today the dismissal of the criminal case against OJSC Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet (OJSC ATF) and the captain of Novoazovsk arrested in March 2007 on the charge of violation of Norwegian fishing regulations. Russia was represented in this case by EPAM.

British packaging firm Rexam Plc has received permission from Russia's anti-monopoly watchdog to acquire Russian drinks can maker Rostar from En+ Group. At the second hearing Rexam was represented by EPAM Law.

Today, in the port of Huelva, Spain, two trawlers – Yuosas Alexonis and Trawlmeister Mogutov, were returned to their legal owner, Russian State company Archangelsk Trawler Fleet (ATF), after being misappropriated in 2004 by the international group headed by the Mauritanian businessman Abass Bugurbal. The interests of Archangelsk Trawler Fleet were represented by EPAM.
