Maria advises on transactions involving high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and their personal assets. She contributes to the legal structuring of significant private and family wealth and businesses to ensure the most effective asset protection.
Maria specialises in advising clients on various aspects of private law, including establishing personal holding structures abroad and their ongoing administration, planning inheritance and family property arrangements within personal structures, facilitating the transfer of personal assets between foreign jurisdictions, and providing assistance with Russian and foreign family, inheritance, and migration laws. She has experience in major business restructuring projects, legal support for the sale of Russian assets by international companies, and compliance projects. Additionally, she has successfully represented clients before the Russian Federal Tax Service.
Maria graduated with honours from the Faculty of Law at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, where she actively participated in several prestigious student moot court competitions. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Private International Law and International Commercial Arbitration at the same university.
Maria is the winner of the Rosenberg International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, supported by the Russian Academy for Foreign Trade and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2023).
She is a recipient of the MGIMO Legal Championship award in International Commercial Arbitration, supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ MGIMO (2023).
She also received an award at the Russian Student Competition “International Commercial Arbitration Model,” hosted by Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, where she was recognised as the winner in the category of ‘Best Legal Advisor’ (2022).
Maria won the Mozolin All-Russian Student Competition on Arbitration of Corporate Disputes, organised by the National Research University Higher School of Economics with the support of the Russian Arbitration Centre (RAC) (2022).
Additionally, she participated in the Russian
Arbitration Association’s All-Russian Online Arbitration Competition (RAA 25), winning the “Best Lawsuit” award (2022).
Maria is fluent in English, French, and Romanian.
