The newly established practice will provide legal assistance related to personal data processing, such as conducting legal due diligence of business processes and documents for compliance with the law, structuring and establishing of internal and external processes of personal data processing including data transfer within international groups of companies and third parties, and preparing local acts, contracts and other documents. EPAM will also represent the clients’ interests before the relevant public authorities.
EPAM attorneys have not only taken part in developing regulatory acts of personal data legislation, but also authored a roadmap, including a programme on how to prevent violations of personal data rights. Major highlights include advising leading domestic and multinational companies in different industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical, food, energy, and automotive among others.
EPAM appointed Counsel Elena Agaeva, an expert in personal data protection, as head of the practice. She is also a member of the Competence Centre of the Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications (Roskomnadzor) in the “Personal Data” section.
