EPAM Law announces key appointments

Effective 1 January 2026, Oleg Valkov (International Arbitration and Litigation) and Irina Kosovskaya (Intellectual Property and TMT) have become partners at EPAM Law.

Oleg Valkov represents Russian and international clients in cross-border litigation and arbitration. He has extensive experience advising on disputes heard before the High Court in London and in LCIA arbitrations under English law, including shareholder disputes and fraud claims. Oleg also represents clients in international investment disputes, advises on sanctions regulation, and has experience conducting compliance investigations. He is an advocate and a member of the Moscow City Bar Association. Oleg is recommended by leading international and Russian legal directories and rankings, including Best Lawyers, Pravo-300 and Kommersant.

Irina Kosovskaya is a recognised expert in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property and in the regulation of the IT, media and telecommunications sectors. For more than 20 years, she has represented clients in high-profile administrative and court disputes, advised on transactions involving intellectual property assets, and overseen registration procedures. Her clients include Russian and international pharmaceutical, telecommunications and technology companies; major industrial and energy holdings; manufacturers of consumer goods, beverages and food products; and businesses in publishing, media and hospitality, among many others. Irina is an advocate, a registered Russian and Eurasian patent attorney, and holds an LL.M. and an MBA. She also serves on relevant committees of major business associations. Irina is recommended by leading international and Russian legal directories and rankings, including The Legal 500, Best Lawyers, IP Stars, Pravo-300 and Kommersant.

Pavel Baryshnikov (Government Regulation) and Ervand Nalbandyan (Litigation and Arbitration) have been appointed Counsel at EPAM Law.

Pavel Baryshnikov specialises in public regulation, including licensing and permitting, state oversight, the circulation of medicines and other goods, budgetary law matters such as subsidies and other forms of state support, privatisation, and employment law. He also contributes to the development of new regulation as an expert, is a member of the working groups of several State Duma committees, and sits on the working group responsible for implementing the National Target Model for the Business Environment in the area of ‘Labour Standards’. He holds a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree, is an advocate and a member of the Moscow City Bar Association, and is the author of more than 20 publications. He is recommended by Pravo-300.

Ervand Nalbandyan represents clients in complex litigation, including corporate disputes, disputes concerning investor protection and environmental protection, and construction disputes. He graduated with honours from the Faculty of Law of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Before joining the firm, he headed the legal function of an investment company. He is an advocate and a member of the Moscow Region Bar Association. He is recognised by Pravo-300 as a recommended lawyer.
