Vera Rikhterman to Lead a Mediation Masterclass Workshop for AmCham Russia Top Executives
On 1 October 2026, AmCham Russia will host the workshop entitled “Win the Dispute or Solve the Problem: Litigation Strategy as a Tool in Business Conflicts” as part of the executive education programme “Leadership” for top leaders of major companies. Vera Rikhterman, Partner at EPAM Law, will speak at the event.
A strong negotiating position is based not on the argument that “we are right” but on demonstrating to the opposing party a realistic scenario of the financial and reputational losses they may face. Effective conflict management requires careful assessment of the stage at which pressure will deliver the greatest economic benefit – before litigation begins, when assets are frozen, or following a first-instance judgment. The role of the CEO and other top executives is to convert legal advantage into a tangible and secure outcome at the right moment, and to determine which option is more commercially advantageous for the company: establishing a legal precedent or locking in financial gains through a settlement.
The workshop will focus on practical issues faced by top executives and legal teams:
- How to distinguish the company’s legal position from its underlying business interests
- When to start negotiations and how to protect against deliberate delays by the opposing party
- The most common mistakes top executives make during negotiations
- TOP 5 successful examples of using litigation strategy to strengthen a negotiating position
