Endless Fairy Tale: How Shall Business Owners Play by Newly Changing Rules

Despite the age-long and long forgotten promise not to increase the tax burden, over the last few months, the legislator and relevant agencies have unexpectedly announced a whole number of steps that would result in another major restructuring of the tax system. This involves revised international double taxation agreements, adjusted regulations for qualifying individuals as Russian tax residents, the flat-rate tax for foreign company owners, and many other initiatives that should be taken into account by foreign asset holders, whether it is capital invested in securities, foreign trade or holding companies or other entities used for estate planning.
