Ilya Nikiforov to take part in discussion on problems faced by young lawyers
On 12 February 2014, a panel discussion on ‘The state of the employment market for law graduates’ will take place at the Russian Federation Federal Chamber of Lawyers (Moscow). As part of the discussion, Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner at the St. Petersburg Law Office of EPAM, will give a speech to representatives of leading law firms and institutions of higher education.
The event is being organized by Novaya advokatskaya gazeta (a newspaper for the legal field) and the Russian Academy of Justice. The aim of the panel discussion is to discuss issues related to the problems facing law graduates as they seek employment; the establishment of requirements for their level of training; and the creation of mechanisms for selecting the best graduates and integrating them into the professional community.
This discussion is the starting point for a major project, which will involve a study of the state of the labour market for young lawyers, the publication and distribution of a guide for students and law graduates on the leading employers in the field of law, including Russian and international law firms; and the launch of a special website containing information about leading law firms, their areas of professional activity, vacancies, and recruitment procedures for interns and employees.
