Elena Agaeva and Evgenia Evdokimova to speak at ‘Civil Legislation Reform: What Businesses and Lawyers Can Expect’ Conference
On 29 November 2012, the fourth annual ‘Civil Legislation Reform: What Businesses and Lawyers Can Expect’ Conference will be held in St. Petersburg. Elena Agaeva and Evgenia Evdokimova will present papers to the conference.
The project has been organized by Vedomosti newspaper’s St Petersburg conference department. The event will examine reforms to civil legislation. Participants will discuss the current status of legislation and the main changes to the Civil Code relating to, amongst other things, property, the land code, and protection of intellectual property. The conference is aimed at managing partners of Russian and international law firms, legal department heads, attorneys and counsel, and professionals from sectors allied to the legal profession.
Elena Agaeva, Head of M&A and Corporate Practice at the St. Petersburg Law Office of EPAM, will present a paper entitled ‘Personal Information: What Needs to be Done by 1 January’. During her presentation, Elena will talk about what must be done by data controllers this year in order to comply with the law, and will also discuss changes expected in the sphere of personal information legislation. Evgenia Evdokimova, a leading specialist in the Construction Practice of the Firm’s St. Petersburg office, will present a paper on the topic ‘Renting for Investment’, in which she will examine the main risks for investors, changes to the legislation affecting developers once the new version of the Civil Code has been approved, and the introduction of new property and property development legislation.
