On 22 November 2024, St. Petersburg hosted the opening ceremony of a monument dedicated to the renowned Russian lawyer and legal scholar Vladimir Spasovich. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including the Russian Minister of Justice, Konstantin Chuichenko; Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, Boris Piotrovsky; Rector of St. Petersburg State University, Nikolai Kropachev; President of the Russian Federal Bar Association, Svetlana Volodina; and Denis Arkhipov, Managing Partner of EPAM Law’s Moscow Office, along with other distinguished guests.
Vladimir Spasovich is known as one of the most eminent lawyers of his time through his involvement in numerous high-profile legal cases. He authored a textbook on criminal law and was a graduate of the Faculty of Law at St. Petersburg State University.
The monument was built with the collaborative input of the Russian Ministry of Justice, St. Petersburg State University, and the Russian Federal Bar Association, with significant support from the Governor of St. Petersburg. EPAM Law also significantly contributed to the success of the project.
Denis Arkhipov, representing EPAM Law, remarked: “Vladimir Spasovich has been called 'the king of the Bar.' It is a great honour for EPAM, and for me personally, to be involved in this significant event. The creation of a monument to such an extraordinary figure in a historically significant location is not only a tribute to his legacy, but also a testament to our commitment to the values of the profession: honour, legality, and justice.”
