23 June 2009, Moscow – Dmitry Stepanov, a partner with EPAM, today took part in ‘Restructuring of Debt or Bankruptcy: Contemporary Methods, Means and Technologies of Protecting Debtors’ Interests’, a conference organized by Russia’s daily newspaper Vedomosti. At the event Dmitry delivered a keynote presentation on the legal aspects of debt restructuring in the Russian Federation.
The primary goal of the conference was to present a broad spectrum of contemporary debt restructuring technologies in order to demonstrate that bankruptcy is not only a means of winding up a company but also an efficient way toward financial rehabilitation. Keynote speakers included heads of legal departments at investment banks, lending agencies, finance directors of corporations, lawyers from leading law firms, representatives of the Supreme Arbitrazh Court, and bankruptcy administrators, all of whom analyzed ways to protect debtors and provided practical recommendations on how to use legal methods and technologies to restructure debt.
Dmitry Stepanov, a partner with EPAM, delivered a presentation at the Debt Restructuring Technologies session on legal aspects of restructuring in the Russian Federation. Dmitry spoke about the debt restructuring technologies in the light of upcoming changes in the Russian bankruptcy legislation and offered a detailed analysis of possible scenarios for overcoming the debt crisis. The forum was attended by Russian and international audience including investors, CEOs and CFOs, heads of legal departments, financial and legal consultants.
