Dmitry Lipin Took Part in Extended Session of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communication

On 6 June 2017 the extended session of the State Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communication was held in Moscow. The session was focused on the discussion of the bills on messenger regulations and illegal SIM cards distribution control. Dmitry Lipin, Associate in the Public Policy and Legislation Practice at EPAM, provided his expert opinion.

Dmitry presented a number of conceptual comments and proposals for bills, including proposals to counter illegal distribution of SIM cards by legal entities, as well as a proposal to amend the bill in order to prevent abuses by telecom operators when providing personal data of corporate employees using business SIM cards.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communication Leonid Levin and Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Dmitry Alkhazov also expressed their opinion on this issue. Representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service of Russia, deputies of the State Duma participated in the meeting.
