EPAM Attorneys Represented the Interests of Northern Capital Gateway Consortium

EPAM litigation attorneys represented the interests of Northern Capital Gateway Consortium, the Pulkovo airport operator in St. Petersburg, in the dispute with the major fuel company Nevsky Mazut.

Nevsky Mazut, which is planning to fuel aircrafts at the airport territory, filed a suit against the EPAM’s client. The opponent stated that the Pulkovo airport operator allegedly obstructed the activities of the fuel company at the airport, failed to fulfill its obligations and unreasonably terminated lease agreements.

EPAM attorneys proved in the first instance that there were no violations in the client’s actions, and the termination of lease agreements was legal. At the same time, the court took into account the arguments of the Firm’s attorneys that it was the opponent who violated the contracts terms. The Court of Appeal also agreed with EPAM’s position and left unchanged the decision of the court of the first instance on the refusal to satisfy the opponent's claims.

The interests of Northern Capital Gateway Consortium were represented by Counsel, Head of Litigation Practice in St. Petersburg Evgeny Gurchenko, Senior Associate Alexander Svashenko, and Associate Yulia Sevostyanova under the leadership of the Managing Partner of St. Petersburg office Ivan Smirnov.
